That sounds awful. Incidents like that are why I'm so skeptical of that element of the traditional workshop model. Even if the other writers were kind in giving their feedback, wouldn't it have been 10x more productive if you could have briefly interjected to clarify what you intended, so that the feedback could be centered around "How could this be executed more clearly & successfully in revision," rather than 30 minutes of feedback centered around such a gross misunderstanding of the story?
