I don't apply to mags that pay cause I don't want the heartbreak so I go with mags who have a good vibe to them and where I can be proud to participate in an anthology or magazine. One day, maybe I'll get paid, but for now, getting my name and my work out there is helping get agent attention for novel querying so I'm okay with that.
