I got a rejection yesterday. Full disclosure, I have only ever so far received rejections. But this one was different. In substance, if not in effect. The editor wrote, "This is not our usual rejection." And then proceeded to reject my submission. I'm not sure whether this is a humble brag, a reason to drown my sorrows, or what?
