I think the conventional wisdom is that a low acceptance % is an indicia of popularity - lots of people are sending along subs - and to a lesser extent, "status" or "clout." A high acceptance %, on the other hand, is often taken to be a sign of a hobby or passion project, or more of a blog, etc. And not to muddy the waters further, but it would be good to separate % based on subs versus % based on individual pieces. A sub with only 1 piece will skew the results compared to a sub with 10 pieces in it, but only 1 gets accepted.
