I got my rejection for my novel on friday and i'm... devastated. I had begun writing it because the previous novel hadn't won a literary contest and I felt like this one was the one, but the editor said it needs a lot of work. Since I work in a publishing house too, I know we sometimes work on novels that need a lot of work (but we work on them because we see "something" in them) so the fact that they straight up rejected it and don't consider that we can work on it together makes me feel super sad
