Usually, I write 2 to 3 drafts and do about 4 editing passes once I've settled on everything being good to go. Because I am a pantser, my first draft os awfully full of telling so I start over and then show all the telling parts. I decided my first draft is an outline and whatever word count I get in the outline becomes 2.5 times longer, usually.
