Basically, what I'm saying is: industry standard shouldn't influence your decisions as a non-paying market when it comes to taking stories that have been available online, but crediting the publisher (and anything that give you the ability to connect with other editors) is a big must because it's a thing editors consider dismissive and petty. (I'm sorry, I have five kids, so I'm constantly getting distracted, lol.)
