That's the cool thing about simultaneous submissions--which we encourage. I always send my own work to a few journals I like pretty much equally. If the work is accepted, I immediately withdraw it from the other journals. If declines start rolling in, I look for more journals to submit to (or I take a hard look at my work and think about revising). I keep writing new work and try not to look at the statuses of my submissions too much--I can make myself crazy doing that. : ) And work is withdrawn from the Baltimore Review every day because it gets accepted elsewhere else before we've had a chance to accept or decline. Such is life. I'm happy for them. Really.
