Who serves who? Do writers serve publications? Or do publications serve writers? I'm a writer. If you serve me, then your purpose is to spread my work to the world. If I serve you, then my purpose is, I guess, to entertain your readers. If your intention is for me to serve you, then I'm fine with that, but I would ask that I not be treated like a slave.
