i'm getting prepared for another round of submissions, and waking up to the idea that i tend to conflate rejection with critique. that causes me to pore over stuff that i thought was submission ready and in some cases make a big mess out of hard work that probably didn't need further editing in the first place. has anyone been through anything similar? had any experience managing these urges?
