That's where I find a place like Scribophile helpful. I posted Schoolyard Bully there last month, but to a very limited audience (four or five people). They all said similar things when they critiqued it. Honestly, I wanted to leave it as it was, but when I thought about it, I realized they were right, so I took their advice, and the story ended up being better for it.
