No that’s ok!!! To each their own— my reasoning is the sooner I can get them eyes on my work, the better. For me the cover letter is just to let them know : 1. Crucial info about the piece 2. That I took the time to read the mag and get a sense for what work they publish 3. My identity as a writer (in the event they care) 4. That I’ve been published in sister magazines (if applicable). E.G., as an editor at BWR, If someone’s already been published in DIAGRAM, Pank, Puerto Del Sol, and Gulf Coast, I might pay attention more closely to the submission!
