Lol, that's always a rude awakening. We've got a few big name people with pretty major titles who still can't leave their day jobs. Too few realize that the ones making money are franchise writers--Patterson, King, Sanderson, etc. Their books sell like crazy because they're not particularly challenging, very consumable, and they have "readers" (big sarcasm quotes there) who only read their titles.
